Hey Guys,
I got a idea for a good way to backup both my Macbook Pro and my Mom's. Is it possible to connect an External HD (Came out of an old laptop and is in an enclosure) to a Netgear WNDR3400 Wifi Router for OTA backups through Time Machine? I know I can just plug the HD into the laptop but I would rather have fewer wires. If this works would it allow for Daily backups of the HD when the MBP is connected?

Thanks

You can definitely do this with an Airport Extreme, and possibly with this router as it does support USB drive connections, but you may need a network addressable drive for it to interface with OSX as I'm not sure how Netgear's ReadySHARE actually works.

Cool. Im going to look into ReadySHARE and post up what I find!

So I found out that it is possible and ReadySHARE is compatible with TimeMachine....But... My router is not on the compatible list. I am going to try and set it up anyways and see if it does work. If it works ill be happy, but if it doesnt I already know what my next router is going to be :D
