I have been looking at Thunderbolt 3 External Drive enclosures at OWC. I am thinking of off-loading all of the data on my current four internal hard drives to such an enclosure in preparation for moving to a future Mac (since none of the new Macs accept internal drives now).

  1. Is there any solution for connecting such an external enclosure to my 2012 Mac Pro?
  2. Would this be an alternate to utilizing my internal drives for the next few months until I get a Mac Pro replacement with built-in Thunderbolt connections?
 
Natively with macOS - NO.
