The new white mb only has 2 usb ports.
Is it possible to connect a firewire camcorder to them with some sort of adapter?

If you bought it recently, you could return it and get MBP instead if the FireWire port is crucial

+1 that would be the best bet... Does the camcorder have a USB output? If so, then you should just get the correct cable for the camcorder to connect to the MacBook.

Thanks, guys, that's what I was afraid of.
They're not mine. They are at my school and another teacher was trying to connect her dv camcorders to the laptops so that she could do animation captures using a software called I can animate.
I don't even know if that software can use a camcorder that connects through usb. It's fairly simple and basic.
