somewhere
are you able to do this ? my car has a aux port and i was wondering if i can use an aux cable to connect my iphone to the car stereo so i can listen to music off my phone ?

also i thought i read somewhere that said it was bad to put an aux cable into the headphone jack ? is this true?

i don't know where you heard that it was bad to put an aux cord into an iphone, because that's pretty... well.

the aux output/input is the same as the headphone 3.5mm jack.

there's nothing wrong with doing what it was meant to do.
go for it.

Aux inputs expect line-level inputs and headphone jacks are able to provide signals far in excess of this.

Not an issue much now as modern aux input design/components can handle a much wider input signal level range without noticeable distortion.

If the input level is too high, you will hear the input overload distortion. Then just back off the iPhones volume control a bit.
