Hello there!

I acquired my shiny new 2020 iMac in august,it came with Catalina.
When I connected my iPhone it showed up very nice to the left of the Finder icon in the dock,so I could continue on the iMac what I was doing on the iPhone, worked perfectly.
Later I updated my iPhone to iOS14.
Now if I connect my iPhone to the iMac I get the message :’You need to update(iMac) to connect iPhone’(or something very similar, afk atm)
Is this a small update or will the iMac install Big Sur? I don’t want this atm as I have external Universal Audio and Arturia gear for music production and these companies say their products are still not compatible with Big Sur,so I wish to stay on Catalina for the time being.
Anyone knows if this is just a small update for iMac-iPhone connection or the Big Sur update?
And if I don’t update to Big Sur would this mean I can’t connect my iPhone to my new iMac anymore, which would be lame as this is a brand new iMac.
Thanks!
