I ripped the flex cable whilst trying to install a new screen, because it's really hard to get much room in there.

I bought a new one, and I thought it was fine as I glued it over where the old one should be, but there was still some of the silver solder left from the old flex cable and I think that might be blocking the connection. I scraped off two of the soldering parts and glued it down.

Will I need to solder this? I thought it might just work without soldering but obviously not. Other than this the iPod is fine, but the only working button is the home button.
