Does anyone connect their touch to their tv? I bought a cable online that didn't work, I bought another at the store and it doesn't work well either. The audio comes through fine, but the video is tricky; it's hard to get the cable to form a good connection. Finally, I broke down and bought the apple dock to use with the cable thinking that I could get a better connection, but no dice. Do I have to buy the apple composite cable as well?

What cable did you buy for your Touch? It is possible that the pins on your Touch are either dirty (causing a bad connection), or you have a faulty dock connector.

Video out should be really simple, provided your TV or video input supports the resolution the device outputs.

You probably bought audio cables (they look like video ones) if you buy the cables from Apple they will work fine.

The only cable I can see in Apple Online (that has the proper end to go into the iPod touch) is the cable that comes with the iPod touch. This of course has a USB on the other end. Isn't likely this would work is it? Otherwise can you direct me to the proper cable to get the iPod touch connected to the TV to view photos and play MP3. Thanks.

Please explain or direct me to an explanation about how these cable would interface with the iPod touch. Is there and adapter needed to go into the iPod touch?

Thanks for the article. However, I believe it says a cable is not yet available for the new iPod touch and for the life of me I can't find the cable listed in the Apple Store on line. What am I missing? Please advise.

The second link above (the composite cable) is what I use to connect my 3G iPod nano to my TV and previously used with my iPod Classic, I've had no problem with it and while it is kind of up there for just a cable you might as well spend the money and save yourself some time and effort and get something you know is going to work. It is listed as being compatible with the iPod Touch 1st gen and 2nd gen.

It also comes w. a ipod USB charger which takes a little of the $ hurt away..

Many thanks for the links to the cables. They are just what I am looking for. I went back to the Apple online store (note this is in Canada) and they still are not listed there. Presumably they are in the US store. Once again I learned not to assume things and be as complete as possible in describing a problem. Thanks again.
