Hi,
I am new here. Please help me with the following:
How do I go about connecting my MacBook Pro 13 with Sony 5.1 Home Theatre? I can get the Video on my LED TV directly by using a Mini display port to HDMI converter. The problem is getting audio through my Home Theatre system. I have a Sony BDV e290 system. Please help me out.

Thanks

You are going to need a 3.5mm to RCA cable and then connect that into the inputs of your receiver. This will give you stereo outputs.

If you want surround sound then you would need a 3.5mm MINI-TOSLINK adapter so that you can plug in a normal optical toslink cable into your MBP and then into your receiver. Another alternative would be to just buy a MINI-TOSLINK to standard TOSLINK cable to eliminate the adapter.
