Connecting Macbook Pro mid 2010 to LaCie 3TB D2 HHD

Hi, I've got the chance to purchase a LaCie 3TB Thunderbolt D2 HHD for £60. I have a macbook pro mid 2010 which I believe to have firewire and USB 2.

How would be best to connect the them? Is it worth it? The price is pretty decent so even if I could use the speed of the firewire i think it would be a good purchase.

I'm pretty new to all this.

I'm mainly thinking of using it to store the audio files and projects from Logic Pro X and to read and write from there for the sessions.

Opinions, help (and corrections) welcomed.
