Connecting Macbook Pro to monitor?

Does it need a DVI-I to DVI-D (my monitor is DVI-D)

OR will a DVI-D to DVI-D cable work with it?

Also this is for the new 2012 Macbook 13"

DVI-D cable will work with that adapter.

DVI-I is dual purpose - does either analogue or digital outputs.
