Connecting Macbook Pro to Photocopier

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro running 10.6.6 and am trying to connect it to my Canon IRC2620N photocopier, which is connected by ethernet to my modem router; I have other computers (PC) connect to the copier wirelessly through this setup. I've tried to connect to the copier in the same way on my macbook and it can't find it - do I need a different setup or is there something I'm missing?
