Connecting MacBook to HDTV

Hey all,

So I just got a used TV from a friend. It is a Samsung Slimline HDTV (model TX-T3093WH - there is a box to it so it's not a flat pannel). I was surprised to find that it does not have a VGA hook up as I'd love to hook up my MacBook to it. The owners manual says that you can't use the HDMI input, but is there another way that I can connect it?

I already have the converter to allow me to plug a second monitor into my MacBook, but want to get this TV working with my laptop!

Thanks so much for any advice you might have...much much much appreciated!

If you don't have a audio/video receiver I would recommend a set of these.

I have never used it with an Apple product but I used to have a PC hooked up to an old tube TV this a set of these. Overscan was a bit of a problem but it worked. I don't see why this wouldn't work with a MacBook.
