Connecting MacBook to TV

Hey y'all. I was looking through an old room in my house today, and I found a series of cables that appeared to be a way to connect my MacBook to my TV. The part that connects to my TV is the usual red, white, and yellow cables/plugs. Those plug into a triangular box that, on the back, says "USB Instant VCD". Then, a cable runs from the box to end in a USB plug. Can I use this to connect my computer to my TV? Thanks y'all!

Is this what you're talking about?

If so, it looks like it's for capturing video, not outputting video.
