For Christmas I got a new 19 inch Vizio LCD LED HDTV and was wondering what I needed to connect my macbook to it to watch movies/etc?

Here is the link to the TV with the specs/etc.

I have the late 2008 aluminum Macbook 13 inch 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo... I think it is now considered the macbook pro or they discontinued it or something.

I've googled what I need to do this, but I'm confused as to what exactly I need to get. There seems to be a lot of different adapters/cords at the apple store. So can anybody help me with what exactly I need? Preferably something that isn't going to kill my bank account if possible.

Thanks for any help or advice!

Yes it is. Read post #87

"It uses the Mini Display Port interface, so any Unibody MacBook Pro as guidance will do fine. It doesn't support audio over Mini Display port though, thus you have to use the 3.5mm audio port."

and here lies my problem. Total technological idiot here, what does this mean?

Go back to the first post in that thread and look under Audio. It has pictures and everything.
