I have the current Macbook Pro (November 2010) and I have connected it to a HDTV through the mini display port via a mini-display/HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable to the TV.
The video comes through fine.
But, I am having erratic audio performance. When I play a clip on the VLC player sometimes I get audio sometimes I don't. I have selected the correct device for audio output on the MBP. Sometimes, just rebooting the MBP will get the audio through again. There does not appear to be any settings on the VLC player that I can adjust.
If I play through Quicktime there is no problem with audio.
Does anybody have any ideas?
