What is the connector I have to buy to either connect a MacBook to a 27" iMac to use its display and connect two iMacs to use as one display?

How would I tell? BTW, does this cord answer both my questions? can it be used to use iMac for macbook display and connect two iMacs together as one display?

All Macs released after late 2008 use mini Displayport, so unless one of the machines is older than that, yes.

Your MBO might actually be mini-DVI

Thanks, looks like it is the mini_display port on both the MacBook and the Imac.


BTW, while I'm at it, what do I need to connect a mackbook to a tube TV?

I was doing some reading according to the advertisement you linked me to. it says it does not support audio. Does that mean I would not be able to hear anything?
