Connecting MBP to Projector

[Feng Shui]

I'm going to be doing a presentation soon with powerpoint or keynote. Just wondering, are there any specific steps to connect my MBP to a projector? Do I need to install any software, or does plug n play do the work?

These steps is what I have in my head right now, correct me if I'm wrong.
1.Plug in the DVI to VGA cord.
2. Plug in the VGA cord from the projector.
And the projector is properly working.

Yep, that sounds about right!
Just plug the VGA cable into the DVI->VGA adapter and plug other end of the VGA cable into the projector. OS X should automatically recognize the other display/screen.
