Connecting Mini display port Mac Pros to TBD via mini display

So connecting the TBD to a Mac Pro that has a mini display port via hardwired thunderbolt cable apparently doesn't work, because it won't display an image from mini display to thunderbolt. Does anyone know if using a mini display male to mini display would work? Just wanted to ask anyone if they have tried this before I order one online.

No. The TBD is not compatible with past Mac Pro models.
