Hello

Just a quick (dumb) question.

I have two monitors i want to connect to my imac 27", however they are all 1080p.

If i do end up connecting them, will then my imac 27" also revert to 1080p, or i can have one monitor at 1440p, and the other ones at 1080p.

I guess not, but its worth a ask

I have an external monitor running out of my 27" imac and you can change the resolution individually if you like. The only way everything will be at 1080 is if you mirror image your monitors, but theres no point in that unless you want to just use your external monitors as the primary display.

You sure, i just tested with my windows pc, if i try to set one monitor at one resolution, the other one changes as well.

I never use clone/mirror display, i use extend, weird, oh well maybe it works the way i want it to then

I have my imac 27" at 2560 x 1440 and my ultra sharp dell 24" at 1920x1200, if I mirror image the imac screen shrinks to the resolution of my external monitor since my external can't support 2560 x 1440.

Not sure why your PC doesn't allow each monitor to run in different resolutions; both by iMac and PC are dual montiors and both run in different resolutions. The iMac 24 is 1920 x 1200, and its second monitor is 1920 x 1080, and the PC main monitor is 2048 x 1152, and it second monitor (40" LED TV) is 1920 x 1080.

So the answer is yes you should be able to run them at their native resolutions.

Yes, you can run the internal and external monitor/s at different resolutions. For example, I'm able to run my MBP at 1440x900 and my television set at 1080p resolutions at the same time. Whether you mirror displays or use the second display for more display estate, this should be true for both situations.
