Connecting my MacBook to a projector

I need to connect my MacBook to a projector to present a power point for school. I have a white MacBook, so it has a Mini-DVI port I believe.

This is what the projector looks like (below)

What cord from the Apple store do I need?
I apologize if this has been asked before.

I assume I need a cable like this?

Well, that appears to be VGA, so that's what you need: mini-DVI to VGA.

Considering that it is a VGA plug, but there is no way to tell unless you take the cord out and take a picture.
