Hello,

At present, my EIZO monitor is connected to my MBP through a DVI connection (Thunderbolt 2-DVI adapter on the Mac).
If I want to benefit from the USB ports of the monitor, I have to use an USB port on the MBP to connect it with a USB upstream port on the monitor. In this case, it works.

If I connect my monitor with DisplayPort to the Mac (with a mini Display Port - Display Port), may I refrain to connect to the USB upstream port and still benefit from USB ports of the monitor? Roughly, does the Display Port already transport the USB signal to the monitor ?

Thank !

Yes display ports or thunderbolts transport usb signal to monitor, but it also depends on if your monitor supports it. Usually if your monitor provides a upstream port it usually means the port is meant to be used.
