I would like to use my new Sony (HX800) HDTV as a monitor. I have an older MacBook and at the Apple store I was directed to purchase the Apple mini-DVI to VGA adapter plus the SVGA Monitor Cable and the Audio-Y Cable. Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to connect all these things?

I know, I know --I'm just not a techie. :confused::confused:

Thanks much.

macbook->mini-dvi adptor->svga cable->hdtv
macbook->audio cable 3,5mm jack->rca part (2 plugs)->hdtv

Now I don't really know how your tv audio input from pc sources is, it could be an 3,5mm jack or RCA jacks
