Since my 2010 iMac appears to be dying, I am finally moving over to my Mac Mini M1. Currently I am using the old iMac wired keyboard but now I am trying to move the Bluetooth Apple keyboard that I have been using with the iMac. The Mac Mini doesn't recognize the Bluetooth keyboard. It is an older keyboard and I think I got it around 2012 or so. Could the age of the keyboard be an issue? Any idea on how to get the keyboard to be recognized? Thanks for any suggestions.

The issue is solved and I feel dumb. I expected that the keyboard would be automatically recognized. Turning off the keyboard and the turning it back on while holding down the on/off switch did the trick. I needed to give it enough time to produce the needed code.
