How do i connect my macbook pro to a macbook to transfer some files? I tried connecting via ethernet cable and restarted my macbook pro and it is still not visible or connecting to each other. I have my computer allowing connections through the settings... Any advice?

Do you need a cross over cable for this, or will a standard ethernet cable work? You could also transfer the files with bluetooth.

nope apple has built in cross-over capabilities into all macs since forever, so nothing to worry about there.
