I'm at a clients location right now trying to get their Mac's to stop flashing in the Menu Bar "Connecting PPPoE". I should not the internet connection is working fine. It just keeps flashing this in the menu bar.
I can't figure out why they are doing this. There is no PPPoE connection setup in System Preferences > Networking that I can find. The Time Capsule they connect to is setup to use DHCP for the Internet and the LAN is set for bridge mode.
I've tried
- Resetting the Time Capsule to factory settings.
- Creating a new location.
- Deleting and recreating all network connection types.
- Deleting the networks from the Preferred networks and the Keychain.
This did not show up until they were on OS X Mavericks. I am connecting with Lion and do not get this message.
I should note that this network was once setup as PPPoE. But I deleted this and all settings from the Time Capsule. And should have been flushed with the reset.
Anyways if someone knows how to get rid of the message. That would be great. I need to know right now. I don't know when I'll be back again.
