Hi,

We plan to launch an iPhone application that holds different user generated content, what I need, is for the app to have the ability to know where it came from (by a URL or some kind of ID) - in order to pull in the relevant data that triggered the user to download the app via the appStore. (such as the page or picture the user was looking at)

Thanks,
Ron

I'm not a developer but I'd read up on what APIs and/or push notifications to determine if that is feasible.

I'm pretty sure what you are asking is impossible. There are no APIs or methods to capture the chain of events that led to a user downloading and installing your app.
