I want to connect my Lacie thunderbolt drive to my Macbook Pro Late 2011 but the thunderbolt socket is being used to connect my Samsung monitor via a display port DVI adaptor to the Macbook pro.

How can I connect my thunderbold hard drive to my Macbook Pro if the mini display port is being used for an external monitor?

Is there an adaptor that will fit the mini display port and have 2 connections one for DVI output to monitor and one thunderbolt output to connect to Lacie thunderbolt drive.

Apple said no such thing exists yet. Very disappointing as the Lacie hard drive cost $550!

I was told an eSata hub might work.

Thanks for any help.

You connect the LaCie to your Mac and connect the display via the adapter to the remaining Thunderbolt port on the LaCie, as Thunderbolt is capable of daisy chaining, thus most proper Thunderbolt devices come with two Thunderbolt ports.
