Hello,

I am hoping there's someone out there who can help. I recently bought a Philips 42" LCD TV that I wanted to use as an external monitor for my Powerbook G4 - along with being my main TV in the Living Room

It has 3 HDMI Inputs and cannot get anything to display on the TV from my laptop. I've tried both my Mac and my desktop PC.

I started troubleshooting by going into the System preferences and turning the Mirroring function on. The Mac recognizes the TV under the "Detect Displays" and I've tried resetting the resolution of the both the TV and Mac. And have tried the F7 function.

I took my Powerbook over to a friends' house along with my DVI - HDMI cable and everything worked perfectly on his ViewSonic LCD TV. Plug and play. It took the signal in a heartbeat. So I know the cable is good and the laptop is outputting a video signal.

I next hooked up my DVD recorder to the TV and checked the 3 HDMI inputs, and they all work as they should. But am wondering if there's something I'm missing - some trick - some setting to make the Philips recognize the Powerbook.

I've called Philips a number of times and they can't seem to figure it out - And Apple wants to charge me $50 since I'm out of warranty..... Anyone out there run into this problem ? I'm not much of a tech head, and any info or advice would be greatly appreciated - Short of taking the TV back.

Thanks

Bradd
