After numerous attempts at connecting to the office's crappy 9 year old printer, I have finally given up. I can connect and print but due to language and driver issues, all I can get is a whole bunch of PS code being printed off.
Anyway, I can connect to the printer with XP via VMWare, so I now just do my work on Word 2008 (OS X), then open it in Word 2007 (XP) on VMWare Fusion.
The problem is...
1. It is time consuming.
2. The save format even between Microsoft products is terrible.
Whenever I open the file created in Word 2008 (OSX) in Word 2007 (Windows) some of the formatting is wrong, which means I have to go through and check it all over.
3. I hate using XP.
So this might be a silly question but, is it possible to connect to the printer via VMWare? i.e. - Is there anyway, I can do my work in OS X, then somehow route the data to the printer via VMWare using the XP drivers, port etc? Or add the VMWare default printer as a printer in OS X?
I don't mind having to have VMWare fusion open for this to happen, I just really hate having to save, open, check and reformat every time I print something.
Thanks
