okay so i stupidly bought 2 24 inch alphascan p241dhs(korean company)
they support full hd 1080p and were produced in 2009 so they aren't too old.
they were 100 bucks a piece so it was a real deal.
What I wanted to do was to hook up these 2 babies up to my 2009 macbook pro. little did my ignorant mind know that the macbook only supports only one monitor via the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter.
I started to read in panic over the internet and it turns out there is few solutions but, it wasn't enough to get me sold. So here is me humbly groveling at you mac wizards.
I want to buy a Matrox DualHead2Go analog version since someone local is selling it for cheap. here are the specs.
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/
Can i use it instead of the DP version? when i check system compatibility it only shows the DP version, but I don't see what the difference is.
also if i buy it and use it will i be able to use a higher resolution than 1280 x 800 on my 24inch monitors, because i read that the recommended resolution on a 24 inch is 1920 × 1200 and i can only see 1280 x 800 on my macbook(perhaps if i connect my monitor it will change so i can select higher resolution? idk).
* there is a guy selling the DP edition so i guess i should buy that. the question is when i click on system compatibility on matrox's website it says this :
"DualHead2Go DP Edition
Maximum resolution:3840x1200 (2x 1920x1200)
Note that the 3840x1200 (2x 1920x1200) and 3840x1080 (2x 1920x1080) modes run at 50Hz which may be incompatible with some displays. Verify with your display vendor for compatibility."
I have no clue what this means
help!
I will be eternally grateful to all those who help me find an answer, thank you!!
Thanks from Jason in Korea!!
