im trying to connect two monitors to a mac pro. both monitors are vga the monitor i am currently using is working fine with the dvi to vga adapter but the secondary monitor port is not the same as the primary port i am using so my dvi to vga adapter does not fit. (the primary is 24 pins the secondary is 30 pins) what kind of adapter do i need to connect to this port and why is it different than the primary?

here are some pictures

find the one that matches here:

none of these seem to be correct. if you look closely at the crappy pictures i took you can see that the secondary port is more oval and does not have flat sides like the other one. also the wiki page only covers up to the 24 pin (with the 4 extra pin) this is 30 pins (with 4 extra). This is crucial. I need to figure this out for the company i am working at.

after countless number of searches refining and redoing over and over again i finally found out what that connection is its is an ADC (apple display connector) its a modification of DVI that incooperates analog digital usb and power all in one... Why do they have to make things so complicated now i need to find a ADC to vga adapter wish me luck.

sorry for not looking closely. but by that, you actually went and look more closely and you found your own answer. i'm sure this was mentioned in one of the pullout manuals ;)

Following the WikiPedia Link there is a discontinued DVI link used by Apple that looks like what you want... But Matrix Makes a Products DualHead2Go and TrippleHead2Go, Where you take your DVI input and you can plug more displays to it.... I never tried it myself, But it might work. It costs about $250-$350 on Amazon
