iPod touch Connecting VNC outside LAN

I have no trouble connecting to my computer when I'm on my network but when I try to on another network it goes to a screen that says "Connection Terminated the server closed the connection" I set up port forwarding on my router and have the VNC on my touch going to my router IP address with the specified port I chose. It works perfectly with that address when im in my network but not when I'm on another one. Any ideas?
