connection delays with sshd

So I am trying to figure out why my mini always pauses while I try to ssh into it since u/g to Tiger. I figured it had something to do with Reverse DNS lookups, so I changed the UseDNS option to no in /etc/sshd_config....no luck. Second, I checked out the launchd plist file for ssh and tried to force it to use IPv4 only....no luck.

Anyone happen to know (a) why the long pause when I try to connect? (b) how to prevent it?
