I have 3 macs at the moment, two of them connecting to my windows server just by using smb://serveraddress
When I type that on those 2 working computers I get the pop up window for username and password and then i see the shares and select the one I want.

However, there is one other mac that just won't connect. It keeps saying connection failed.
I have tried smb/cifs, using name using ip, using port, etc... nothing works.
And most of the settings and specs are the same on all 3 macs.

I also ran a disk permission repair.

Any ideas on why I wouldn't be able to connect? It is obviously not an issue on the windows side....

Similar problem. I have a Macbook Pro 3,1 with updates Lion 10.7.2.
In my company we have 1 Win Server and 1 Linux Debian Server.
I connect wthout any problem to the smb shares with linux, but when i try to connect to the Win server i get an error.
I tried on terminal with "smbutil" and i get this error:
smbutil: server rejected the authentication: Authentication error

I checked our server and the permissions are ok, also before upgrading to Lion 10.7.2 i could connect without any problem..
an suggestion?
