Connection problem after unlock-Please Help

alright so i jail broke and unlocked my 1st gen iphone with ziphone with firmware 1.1.4 and from that point on ive had problems with people always complaining that when they call me its a long pause(15 sec) before the phone would ring on there side or it would ring 5 or 6 times on there side before it rang once on my side... I never heard of this happening before so i figured something must of happened during the unlock and when i update and re-unlock it would fix it.... well i updated to firmware 2.1 and unlocked with quick pwn and i have the same issue but now when i call out sometimes it takes 10 15 sec for it to connect on my end..and the phone seems to lag and i have no apps installed, i notice the lag more so in text message more then anything though....... I just would like to know if this is normal......My phone has a broking screen on it now because i dropped it and apple is gonna sell me a new one for 200 and i want to know if the connection problem is normal if so im not purchasing a new phone(Im sick of everyone bitching that my phone take to long to connect)...Thanks Again
