Hi,

I recently jailbroke my iphone (again) since the 4.0 software was incredible laggy on my 3g (even with the 2x hard reboot)

So now, I am back on 3.1.3 and I am trying to connect to it via Cyberduck

  1. Yes, I have connected prior to updating to 4.0
  2. Yes, I have googled and nothing is really helping me out because of one particular issue
  3. My iphone and macbook are on the same wireless connection (same SSID) but, there is a "different" IP address on both. This seems impossible and it positively baffles me. For example, the airport says its connected to 192.169.1.10A and the iphone wifi settings says its connected to 192.169.1.10B (A and B are different numbers).
  4. I have reinstalled OpenSSH twice now
  5. Connection is also refused or becomes "timed out" when I try to access via Terminal.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I do next?

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that (if it wasn't figured out before) that the macbook and my iphone are on the same wireless router.

What Cydia instructed me to do.

"ssh root@<ipaddress>"

When I tried to connect to ip 192.169.1.10A it said "operation timed out"
when trying to connect to B, it said "connection refused"

A = what ip the iphone is telling me

B = what ip the macbook is telling me

I also have a visual that I just took about 3 minutes ago.
(Visual includes the terminal, iphone, and mac

The 192.169.1.103 ip is the one you want to use. That is the ip address of your phone. The fact that you're timing out indicates to me either 1) that you don't have the SSH server running on your phone, or 2) that a software or hardware firewall is blocking the port you are trying to use. Do you have a firewall, or is one built into your router? You will need to make sure port 22 is open.

All firewalls are turned off.

How do you turn on the SSH server on my phone if I downloaded OpenSSH, even reinstalled twice.
Is openSSH not plug and play?

theres no rhyme or reason half the time with SSH atleast I could never figure it out it works sometimes perfectly and not others. I recommend purchasing Diskaid it works flawlessly via usb. and fasssst. I copied like a gig of snes roms last night in like 3-5 minutes where it takes like half our wirelessly
