You need an adapter and a cable.

There are 3 adapters you can use with your Macbook, but you need to pick one that has the same video port on your TV. Then you need to get a cable that connects to the adapter either a composite, s-video, VGA, or DVI.

Mini DVI to Video (composite or S-video) This is on most TVs. Does your TV have round yellow, white (and maybe red) ports?

Mini DVI to VGA This is on more expensive TVs.

Mini DVI to DVI This is on even more expensive TVs.

Also, if you want to hear sound from your Macbook thru your TV you need to buy another cable that goes from your headphones jack on your Macbook to the white or both red and white composite audio ports.
