Dear Experts,

Would like advice from forum experts. I tried connecting my MBP mid 2009 to my Philips tv using mini display port and HDMI cable. However nothing is reflected in the TV screen after i tick the mirror box, TV shows unsupported format. Please advice. Thank You all.

You are mirroring a 16:10 resolution, whereas your TV is 16:9.

Lower your resolution to something like 720p and it should work fine.

Hi Snaky69, tried lowering it down to 720p and even 480p still got the same result. TV screen shows unsupported video format. :(

Either the MBP isn't outputting video or the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable isn't working. Do you have a way of testing them?
