connection with dell u2410

Don't use mini-DP

There is a known issue with Mini-displayport > Displayport connections to the U2410. The monitor gets recognized as a TV so the native resolution can never be achieved and the picture looks like garbage. There is a thread somewhere on here chronicling the issue.

Your best bet is to go minidp to DVI

I wasn't aware of these issues, but since its native res is 1920x1200, you can use a standard single-link DVI connection, which is pretty cheap.

Heard of some bugs with MDP>DP. Been using MDP>DVI with no issues for over a year on my mid-2010 MBP.

I did a week research for this subject. I found this. I connect my MBP to Dell U2311H and it display full resolution! Ordered it on Monday and got it Wednesday!
