Quick question: Does apple watch work with iPhone only connected to Bluetooth?

I ask this because I use my iPhone on LTE primarily (one of the lucky few with grandfathered LTE) and based on continuity on macs you need bluetooth and wifi ON both devices.

Basically as long as I can receive calls and texts with LTE + Bluetooth I'm might just pick up this watch

Yes, I believe it will work solely over Bluetooth but it does also use WiFi Direct if I'm not mistaken.

In short, you have nothing to worry about.

I think it uses wifi (not direct, but on same network) as a plan B if bluetooth goes out of range.
