I've got a MiniDV camera and it loads the crap out of this 40 gig computer. I'd like to move the movies I have so that I can get more space. What is the best way to do this? External hard drive? DVDs?

A huge external drive will be your best bet. At least 500GB, but 1TB is better. Try to get firewire, it is better for video than USB.

I have firewire. And it still gobbles up space like a fatboy eating ice cream.

What you need to do is buy an external hard drive with either a firewire or USB connection to your computer so you can move your movies off and reclaim space on the internal hard drive of the computer.
