I’m thinking of getting an M1 MBA, but before I do I have a few questions..

  1. I have a 2020 intel MBA that runs my Samsung 34” UW monitor at 3440x1440 - will the M1 support this? (It’s not Retina resolution I know - but that’s ok.)
  2. I’ve read that MonitorControl doesn’t work, which I used to use to control Volume and brightness - I know MonitorControl wont work for the brightness and that QuickShade may work instead for brightness, but is there anything that will control volume when its running in clamshell mode?
  3. There are a very few instances when I need to run Windows - how limited isWindows 10 itself with the Alexander Graf solution? It’s only really used for IP phone database administration.
Thanks!

THE BIG DISCLAIMER--Due to technical issues surrounding any initial release of hardware or software, caveat emptor!

1. I've seen in threads where this can be done.

2. I really have no idea on this one. Sorry.

3. Win 10 apparently runs better in VIRTUALIZATION than on a MS Surface. The only main issue may be running old x86 or 64-bit applications as Windows relies on what is a weird, Microsoft Rosetta-like layer that actually came first for Intel to Arm translations. From what I've heard, it's very clunky compared to Apple's Rosetta 2.
