Considering iPhone 4 is shipping with ios 4.0.2

My new iPhone 4 is being delivered at some point today. My 3G is still on 4.0.1... Do I have to to update that to 4.0.2 when I back it up to ensure that when I restore from backup on the 4 that the restoration goes smoothly?

Or does it not matter that the last back up is on 4.0.1?

no you dont have to update your 3G to 4.0.2 before backing up. But I always recommend that when your getting a new phone, don't set it up from a back-up, keep the new phone with a fresh OS.
