I always bought the 15inch rmbp i went with the 15inch in 2012 and did the same In 2014
I have 2 reasons why This 13 inch Laptop shouldnt even be called pro
1.The gpu in them Is Really irrelevant as of 2017
2.i use logic x with maschine studio and komplete kontrol and kontakt libraries and i do some gaming on bootcamp side

But my situations has changed Im a medical student so my 1st generation ipad pro works fine for PDFs powerpoint intensive Apps like complete anatomy or medical dictionaries

But im producer and I want something to Do some mixing in the break times (well Thats maybe 2 hours of break time everyday)
I want to be able to take Heavy Projects from my 5k imac And do the mixing on the go (yeah its funny but i mix on earpods!)

And since There is No reason A medical student Should bring Their laptop to the university(well no one does in my university)
I dont want some chunky top end 15inch rmbp only for mixing on the Go
I know, its stupid but If you bring a 15inch rmbp To a place like that its gonna seem Like you wanna show off or sth Thats not the case For me cause I already had 15 inchs back in 2012 (I know what im saying is Gonna sound wierd, cause its culture Which is a stupid culture in my country )
Since i never had 13 inch pros I have some questions:

1. Is it really worth 1/5-2k?
This thing has No real GPU and im not sure wether It can handle logic properly since i have 2017 5k imac and a mid 2014 retina Macbookpro and both Run High end i7 quad cores i have no idea How a Dual core i5 would perform...
And Forgot to say when im mixing i wont be Bouncing in place to audiofiles i might want to change the notes in the mixing process so i wont do that.
2.is the 13 inch model any less eyecatching than the 15inch?
3.is it really more portable?
4.i cant get the customized versions or the highend versions cause man,the high end ones cost almost the same as the base 15inch
Is it still worth it for Heavy projects?(i wont be connecting my Mashine studio to it My studio related hardware are all connected to the 5k imac)
5.is it worth to wait for the 2018 update? I wont be waiting longer than 2-3month
6.Im buying a 128Gb ssd Mainly for "multiple versions of my last logic x projects" so im always Saving the Last logic projects to it so i can Simply plug it in to my imac Or rmbp and Move between my machines Flawlessly
Sothe question is : does an external ssd (sony 128ssd with 450mb/s write speed) Provide sufficient performance For machine studio on the 5k imac or for mixing On the 13inh pro im mainly concerned about the latency

Forgot to mention he 3tb Fusion drive causes lag while zooming And scrolling in logic while my slower 2014rmbp has No lags In logic
Do you think the external ssd will fix buggy logic performace?
7.and the last question:
What CPU would you recommend for my use is the base nontouchbar model enough?(i probably wouldnt get that cause i need the 256gb at the very least but This question is about the cpu)

Sorry for being too long Guys but These are questions that ill have to answer before I spend Almost All my savings On a new mac
