I wasn't entirely sure where to put this, so I just out it here, maybe someone can suggest a better place?

Anyway, as the title says my Mac has suddenly decided to constantly play a 'click' sound, it sounds very similar to pressing on the Magic Trackpad. The speakers are not broken/breaking the click is a proper sound being played by the system and plays through either the internal or external speakers.

I'm really hoping someone here can help, Google wasn't much help as it just brought up topics about speakers that were failing. If I can't get this fixed I'm either going to go insane or have to live with a silent iMac.

I tried fixing it by simply restarting but it was to no avail. I've heard a lot of people mention resetting PRAM to fix minor issues, but I don't really know what that is, would it be worth giving it a shot anyway.

GAH! Turns out it was a stray website lost amongst all my other windows and spaces I had up making the clicking sound *face desk*

Well that's embarrassing... but at least it's "fixed"

I guess it's a good lesson to keep things tidier :p
