Constant keyboard problems MBP

Hi! Everytime I try to login with my macbook pros keyboard It just makes an error sound and doesn't type anything, the volume,Keyboard backlight and brightness buttons work and the trackpad too! What should I Do?

oh i know. this happens to me sometimes. make sure that you have the login text box selected. sometimes when i click around it gets deselected, and then it gives me the noise when i try to put my password in.
