CR rated the stainless steel Apple Watch at 71, which is their highest rating. The Sport got a score of 69, tied with the LG G Watch R, for second. Next closest were the Pebble Steel (66) and the Moto "315"

CR's Take
You'll spend a lot for the stainless steel variety of the Apple Watch but in return you'll get a tough, advanced wearable deviceand a handsome one, as well, which is smaller and more watch-like than its competitors. (The Apple Watch also comes in a 42 mm version.) What sets the Watch apart from the less expensive Sport version is the Watch's Sapphire-crystal glass, which proved to be the hardest watch display in our labs. But the display was also sensitive enough to discern among the varied taps and swipes you'll need to dive into the device's many capabilities, which range from fitness tracking and coaching to making phone calls (when paired to your iPhone).
