Hi,

I did a little test today to see if the issue with the contacts is the phone or the network.

I removed my SIM card from the phone (since I'm having trouble and needed to use my backup phone anyway), and after doing so, my contacts are SNAPPY as heck, and don't lag at all.

I think the lag may have to do with communicating with the network when you go to your contacts, either to try to sync up with ActiveSync, MobileME, Google, etc, or whatever, but it definately doesn't happen when I take the sim card out. What about airplane mode? I haven't tried that, but i'm guessing the same thing.

OR, perhaps the contact lag is the phone trying to get the contacts from your SIM CARD???!!

I just tried it in Airplane Mode and it is better. But this is my breakdown for contact launch times:

2.0 with network = 15-20 seconds

2.0.1 with network = 3-4 seconds

2.0.1 Airplane Mode = 1-2 seconds

So basically, for me, 2.0.1 fixed this problem. Yeah, Airplane Mode shaves another second off of that, but who cares?
