Hey everyone! My first post, so sorry if this comes off as a dumb question.

How can I remove the little circle avatar photos on the left hand side of each conversation in imessage? On iOS8, it just had the names, and no photos (maybe that was just the way mine was setup?). I really prefer the iOS8 look.

Other than that, so far, 9 looks pretty sweet!

Thanks!

It only shows up this way in group messages, and it's done that for the past several iOS versions.
It's not new in iOS 9, you're probably just looking at a group message. :)

it is a new feature for the iPhone 6 (not plus). Previously this was only available on the Plus from what I understand. The OP is asking a real question, and I was wondering the same thing. I didn't see a setting anywhere. I kind of like the photos though.

No, I'm not looking at a group text. My ios8 never had the photos on the Group chat, unless I was viewing the chat. The photos are there, once I click on the conversation. I'm asking about the part of the app that has all of your conversations listed.

It is non removable. This is the way it is supposed to behave as per iPhone 6 Plus which has this feature since iOS 8.x

i wish they were more centered and only move once u get a message to place the blue dot next to it. OCD level overload

I don't like that they're placed further to the right for the mostly invisible blue dots, but what annoys me more is that the gaps either side of the pic aren't even. I wouldn't mind so much if that was symmetrical.

YAAAS! I feel like it's a waste of space on the left side of that picture. Not really sure why they don't use the entire screen and then shift each row to the right when the blue indicator is in place.

exactly

Ugh, that sucks. I hate how each one has a photo. I would much rather just have the name, like iOS8. I guess I'll get used to it. I still have trouble with the new font.

It's funny because this is a feature I have been hoping for for years and years, it's just so much easier to spot a picture than read a name in the last. That said I don't understand why Apple does things like this with no option, it should be an on off toggle.

It should be an option to toggle on/off like the option that was in 8.x which has been removed to toggle the contact photo in phone favorites. I wish that was brought back as well.

They add more places to have these things, even in email now where many times the senders aren't from contacts or anything like that. Great to have more places but bad that they took away even the option that was already there to control it at least for favorites, let alone didn't even add the ability to control them at all.
