Contact Syncing

If I have all of my contacts on my iPhone, but they are not synced to a program like Outlook, and I then select sync contacts with Outlook, will it delete the contacts on my phone, or will it just write the phone contacts to outlook?

it should merge (join: make both have both contents) the contacts unless you checked the "replace phone contacts with" checkbox on the bottom of the info tab.
